Pricing comparison

Shoppable video app pricing, compared

Six Shopify apps, every published plan, and what each one actually costs once your videos start getting watched. The headline price matters less than what the plan meters — views, viewers, clicks or impressions — and what happens when you pass the limit. We make one of these apps, so every figure here comes from each app's own App Store listing and pricing page, checked on 1 October 2026.

* Where an app's App Store listing and its own website disagree, we show both or the range: Tolstoy's listing puts Pro at 100,000 viewers and its site at 50,000; Whatmore's listing says 300 free clicks and its FAQ says 500, and its Premium card says 80,000 clicks while the page's pricing data says 120,000. Videowise's App Store plans and its website's plans are different products at different prices. Sources: each app's Shopify App Store listing and the vendor's pricing page, checked 1 October 2026. What it costs as you grow

The cheapest plan that covers a month of traffic, at three traffic levels, using each app's published limits and overage rates. This is where metering shows up.

Monthly billing. Quinn's Growth plan covers 12,000 views, so 20,000 means the $49 Unlimited plan. The bottom two rows use each app's own unit and are not like-for-like: a Tolstoy "viewer" is a person, not a play — storefront shoppers watch three to four videos on average (Quinn's own measurement), so 50,000 plays is closer to 12,000–17,000 viewers, which Tolstoy's $44 Plus plan covers. Videowise is left out because its App Store plan counts widget impressions, which pile up far faster than plays.

Read the table the way you would read a mobile contract: the first row is what you pay when things go well. A metered plan that is cheap at 3,000 views costs roughly seven to ten times as much at 50,000 — and the month it gets expensive is the month a video took off. If you are choosing between apps, price them at ten times your current traffic, not at today's.

How each app counts usage

Two plans with the same number can cover very different amounts of traffic, because the apps are not counting the same thing:

Then check what happens at the limit. ReelUp and Tolstoy bill overage per extra 1,000, so a viral month shows up on the invoice. Vidjet stops showing your videos until the next cycle unless you upgrade. Quinn's lower plans ask you to upgrade; the Unlimited plan has no limit to reach.

Annual billing

Every app here discounts annual plans, by different amounts. Quinn: $90, $189 or $470 a year (17–20% off). Tolstoy: roughly a third off ($96, $348, $1,548 and $3,588 a year). Vidjet and Whatmore: 20% off. ReelUp's listing shows no annual pricing, and Videowise's website shows 20% off its platform plans. Trials are 7 days for Quinn, ReelUp and Vidjet, and 14 days for Whatmore and Videowise's App Store plan.

Where Quinn is not the right buy

Price is not the only axis, and we would rather you pick the right tool. If you need live shopping, Videowise builds it and Quinn does not. If you want interactive or branching video, quizzes or an AI shopping agent, that is Tolstoy's territory. If you only ever expect a few thousand views, Tolstoy's $12 Starter plan is priced within a few dollars of Quinn's $9 Starter. Where Quinn is clearly cheaper is sustained growth: past about 20,000 monthly views, one flat $49 covers everything while every metered plan keeps climbing. The honest head-to-heads: Tolstoy, Videowise, ReelUp, Vidjet and Whatmore, or all six compared on more than price.

Questions

How much does a shoppable video app for Shopify cost?

Entry plans run from free to $49 a month. Quinn and Videowise's App Store plan start at $9, Tolstoy at $12, Whatmore at $29, ReelUp at $29.99 and Vidjet at $49. What you actually pay depends on metering: five of the six charge more as your video gets watched more, so model the cost at the traffic you expect, not the traffic you have.

Which shoppable video app is cheapest?

At low volume, Quinn ($9 for 5,000 views) and Tolstoy ($12 for 5,000 viewers) are the cheapest paid plans. Past about 20,000 monthly views, Quinn's $49 Unlimited plan is the cheapest because it has no view cap; at 50,000 views ReelUp costs $199.99, Vidjet $499 and Whatmore $249 (in clicks), and Tolstoy $195 at 50,000 viewers.

Which shoppable video apps have a free plan?

Quinn (550 views a month), ReelUp (100 views) and Whatmore (300 clicks on its App Store listing) have free-forever plans, and Videowise's App Store listing shows a free plan. Tolstoy's free plan is a 30-day trial; after it, a paid plan is needed to keep the widget live. Vidjet has no free plan.

How much does Tolstoy cost?

Tolstoy's self-serve plans are Starter at $12/mo (5,000 viewers), Plus at $44/mo (20,000 viewers), Pro at $195/mo and Max at $449/mo (120,000 viewers), with Enterprise above that. It meters viewers plus AI tokens, and charges $5 to $10 per extra 1,000 viewers. Annual billing takes about a third off.

How much does Whatmore cost?

Whatmore meters video clicks. Its App Store listing shows a free plan (300 clicks), Starter at $29/mo (3,000 clicks), Growth at $79/mo (15,000 clicks) and Scale at $149/mo (40,000 clicks). Its own site adds a $249 Premium plan and custom Enterprise pricing. Annual billing is 20% off.

What happens when a shoppable video app hits its plan limit?

It varies. ReelUp and Tolstoy bill overage per extra 1,000 views or viewers. Vidjet does not bill overage: videos stop showing until the next billing cycle unless you upgrade. Quinn's $49 Unlimited plan has no view limit to hit.
